“Stop the busyness, start connecting now”

Terrie Power Coaching

It’s still 90° in Texas—but your connections might be cooling off.

Everywhere I go lately, I hear the same phrase on repeat:

“It’s just such a busy season.”

It’s like the official soundtrack of October.

Even though it’s still hot here in Texas, the pumpkin spice and Halloween decorations are doing their best to convince us it’s fall. But between full calendars, endless to-do lists, and all the noise of “getting things done,” connection is often the first thing that slips away.

We tell ourselves we’ll catch up after the busy season.
We’ll plan that dinner next month.
We’ll call that friend when things calm down.

But here’s the truth: life rarely slows down on its own.
And when we don’t make space for the people who matter, we end up achieving more but enjoying less.

That’s why this week’s blog, The Circle of Relating: Love, Family, and Community, is about bringing intention back to your relationships without forcing another item on your list.

Inside, I share:

  • How to notice which relationships (love, family, or community) need attention right now
  • Simple weekly rhythms to stay connected—like a standing text thread, a quiet dinner, or a “walk and talk” instead of another scrolling break
  • Why it’s okay if one of these circles feels off or missing this season (and how to give yourself grace while rebuilding it)

Your people don’t need you to be less busy—they just need you to be present in small, meaningful ways.

You might be surprised how quickly that intention starts to restore joy and focus in every other part of your life.

💭 Note to Self: What I’m Learning

It’s still in the 90s here in Texas, but that didn’t stop me from unpacking the Halloween bins and lighting my pumpkin candle.

Because here’s what I’ve realized: mindset and environment make all the difference.

You can create the feeling of fall, even when the weather disagrees. And the same goes for your goals and aspirations—you don’t have to wait for perfect conditions to feel inspired.

Set your environment for the season you want to be in. Sometimes that means cozy lighting, a playlist that makes you feel productive, or a workspace that sparks creativity.

The temperature may not say “fall,” but my house sure does—and that shift in energy changes everything. 🎃

🔧 Try This:

Before this week disappears into a blur, send one simple message that starts with:

“Hey, I was thinking about you.”

No big plan. No long text. Just a spark of reconnection.
Because one intentional moment can shift an entire relationship.

To an amazing fall,

Terrie

Terrie Power Coaching A December Reset and What It’s Teaching Me There’s something about December that makes things feel clearer. The lights, the quiet moments, the sense that a new year is close. This year, that feeling has shown up in a new way for me. I’ve been working on my 2026 offers and getting steadily more excited. But in the middle of all that, I hit a wall. Not because I didn’t have ideas, but because I had too many. My Enneagram Nine brain went into full “every path looks good”...

Terrie Power Coaching When Thanksgiving starts to look different This year, our Thanksgiving looks different. Maybe yours does too. We’re in that new phase of life where the “kids” are married, engaged, working real jobs with real schedules, juggling in-laws, holidays, and responsibilities of their own. And this year, all of that showed up in our plans. We’re still having our traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, but not everyone can be here. Some are working. Some are with other family....
