When busy weeks change the wrong things

Terrie Power Coaching

…

This week asked more of me than I expected.
And I felt it almost immediately.

Work ran long. Longer than normal.
One of those weeks where you think you are adjusting… but you are really just trying to keep up.

So I shifted my pace.
I told myself I was being flexible. Reasonable. Practical.

And then, quietly, a few things slipped.

Not the big obvious ones.
The small ones that usually keep me steady.

My planning time got shorter.
My weekly check-in disappeared.
I stopped opening my planner and started reacting to whatever was loudest.

None of this felt dramatic in the moment.
It just felt necessary.

Here is the pattern I keep noticing in weeks like this.

It is not a motivation problem.
It is not a discipline issue.

It is what I give up when things get busy.

I can usually do more than I think when I shift my perspective or talk myself through the situation. That part surprises me sometimes. But that only works when I keep a few anchor points in place - my weekly check-in, my daily planning moments.

When those go, everything feels out of sorts. I think I can handle it. I think I do not have time to stop but it makes a difference.

Even the things I normally enjoy.

Pause here for a second.

What are you most tempted to give up when your week gets full?

Not the big things.
The small ones you tell yourself you will come back to later.

Now for a small experiment. Nothing fancy.

Instead of asking what you can drop, ask what actually keeps you anchored.

Maybe it is five minutes with your planner.
Maybe it is a short weekly check-in.
Maybe it is opening your calendar before saying yes to the next urgent thing.

Small things count more than we think.

This shows up differently depending on how you are wired. Every Enneagram type needs anchors, but they do not all look the same. Some need structure. Some need space. Some need reassurance. The important part is noticing what steadies you.

I keep coming back to trust. Trust that small, intentional choices still matter. Trust that pausing to plan is not falling behind, even when life feels full.

Quick side note before I go.

I’m shifting how these emails flow this year.
Letting them feel more like a conversation with you.

If you ever want to share what’s helpful or what you want more of, you can just reply and tell me. What do you need?

If this connects, I have a free Goal Momentum mini-course that walks through building real-life goals.

And if you want more ongoing support, the Powered Momentum Collective is open for enrollment for a few more days.

Both are options - depending on what support you need.

You are not behind.
Keep going. One step at a time.

Terrie

You Were Never Meant to Do This Alone Terrie Power Coaching … There are really no words to describe last weekend… but you know me, I’m going to try. I spent the weekend at an in-person retreat with a group of women I usually only see online through the Wholehearted Coaching Collective. And being in the same room? It was something different. There’s something powerful about sitting across from people who get you… without you having to explain every part of yourself. We spoke the same language....

Personalized Productivity Pathway *****ISSUE WITH LIVE RECORDING:Unfortunately, the live recording was corrupted and unusable. Terrie is recording another version tonight, and we’ll upload it to the hub as soon as it’s ready. In the meantime, we’ve added the meeting summary notes to the hub.***** What an amazing start to the Personalized Productivity Pathway Cohort! It was so powerful to kick off this journey together—and begin exploring how the Enneagram can serve as your internal compass for...
