I believe there is something powerful about looking at a goal you almost abandoned and choosing it again.

Not because the year went according to plan.

Not because you suddenly have more time, energy, or certainty.

Because it still matters.

I have two big goals left this year.

My business goal is going well, but it will not happen accidentally. Reaching it will require focus, excitement, and actions that support where I want to go.

My health goal has been more difficult. An injury changed what I could do and made progress look very different from what I pictured at the beginning of the year.

I have to admit, I was tempted to give up on both.

Two goals. Two different excuses.

One goal was going well, but reaching it would require more from me.

The other became harder, and I could no longer pursue it the way I originally planned.

Both gave me a reason to stop.

That is when I noticed something:

We do not only give up when we believe something is impossible.

Sometimes we give up because continuing requires us to believe again.

To believe the dream still matters.To believe there is still time for meaningful progress.

To believe we can be determined without giving up our peace and joy along the way.

The last quarter is not for everything

The final quarter is not where we drag every unfinished goal across the finish line.

It is where we decide what still deserves our belief, attention, and action.

Some goals can wait.

Some no longer fit.

But one or two may still stir something in you when you think about them. Those are worth another look before you quietly decide the year is over.

What dream still matters enough to choose again?

Make one clear move

Here is something small to try.

Choose one goal you still want before the year ends. Write down why it matters now, not why it mattered in January.

Then name one action that would show you have not given up on it.

It does not have to complete the goal. It only needs to move you toward it.

Focus does not have to steal your peace.

Determination does not have to cost you your joy.

You can want something deeply and still move toward it in a way that supports the life you want to live.

Your dream has not expired because the year became harder than you expected.

You can choose it again.
