The fastest way to get back on track may not be what you think.

A reboot isn't about starting over.

Terrie Power Coaching

Last week I introduced the idea of a Reboot, Update, or Restore.

Several of you reached out after reading the blog, and one question kept coming up:

"Okay...but where do I start?"

My answer is probably simpler than you're expecting.

When we feel out of rhythm, we tend to think we need to fix everything. We start making long lists, creating new routines, or convincing ourselves that this time we're finally going to do it all.

I've been there too.

But after years of coaching, I've noticed something.

Meaningful progress usually doesn't begin with a complete overhaul. It begins by returning to one thing that was already helping.

This week, instead of trying to change everything, choose one rhythm to bring back.

Maybe it's:

  • Planning your week before Monday arrives.
  • Taking a morning walk.
  • Writing down your top three priorities.
  • Spending ten quiet minutes with your coffee before the day begins.
  • Ending your workday at a consistent time.

That's your reboot.

Simple.

Intentional.

Doable.

Your Challenge This Week

Choose one rhythm and protect it for the next seven days.

Don't worry about doing it perfectly.

Just notice what changes when you give one good habit a little attention.

You might be surprised how much momentum one small step can create.

If you're still wondering where to begin, I'd love to help.

Schedule a Momentum Conversation, and together we'll discover your next right step.

Speaking of Working Genius...

One of the things I love about the Working Genius assessment is that it reminds us we don't all reboot the same way.

If your genius is Wonder, you're probably asking, "Is this still the right direction?"

If your genius is Invention, you've already come up with three new ideas before finishing your coffee.

If your genius is Discernment, you're quietly sorting through what should stay and what should go.

If your genius is Galvanizing, you're thinking, "Okay...who's ready to get started?"

If your genius is Enablement, you've probably helped someone else get organized before looking at your own calendar.

If your genius is Tenacity, you're ready to roll up your sleeves and start checking things off.

None of those responses are better than the others.

They're simply different ways we're wired to approach our work.

Work with your strengths, not against them.

Have a wonderful week!

Terrie

P.S. If you missed last week's blog, I'd love for you to read it. It will help you discover whether you need a Reboot, an Update, or a Restore, so you can stop guessing and start moving forward with confidence.

Before you start over, make sure you're solving the right problem. Terrie Power Coaching … Every August I hear the same thing. "I need to get back on track." Maybe you've said it too. Summer has a way of changing our routines. We stay up later. We travel. We say yes to things we normally wouldn't. And before we know it, August arrives and it feels like we should magically have everything figured out by Monday. Can I encourage you with one thought? Maybe nothing is wrong. Maybe you don't need...

What if you never felt ready? Terrie Power Coaching … A question for you... Have you noticed how "I just need to think about it a little more" can quietly turn into weeks...or even months? I laugh because I've said it, too. Sometimes it sounds like:"Let me do a little more research." Or..."I just need to get organized first." Or my personal favorite..."I'll start on Monday." None of those things are bad. But every now and then, they're really just another way of saying, "I'm waiting until I...

What If That Isn't True? Terrie Power Coaching … I think our brains have a favorite hobby. They make lists. Not grocery lists or to-do lists. Lists of everything that could go wrong. Why now isn't the right time. Why you're too busy. Why you don't know enough. Why someone else could do it better. The funny thing is...we rarely realize we're only reading one list. Try This Five-Minute Exercise Grab a piece of paper and draw a line down the middle. On the left, write down every reason you feel...
