I ALMOST Gave Up… Here’s What Changed

A December Reset and What It’s Teaching Me

There’s something about December that makes things feel clearer. The lights, the quiet moments, the sense that a new year is close. This year, that feeling has shown up in a new way for me.

I’ve been working on my 2026 offers and getting steadily more excited. But in the middle of all that, I hit a wall. Not because I didn’t have ideas, but because I had too many. My Enneagram Nine brain went into full “every path looks good” mode. I bounced between options, changed my mind a dozen times, and drifted toward work that felt comfortable instead of the work that actually mattered.

Eventually, it all felt heavy.

That’s when I realized I needed help. Not because I was failing, but because I couldn’t see everything clearly on my own.

So I talked to my coach.

I needed someone with strengths I don’t naturally have. Wonder is not my strength and usually where I get frustrated. She helped me slow down, look from a different angle, and pay attention to what I actually wanted. That conversation settled everything. The excitement came back, but without all the chaos.

It reminded me how much support helps.
How much clarity helps.
How much perspective helps.
And how much people matter.

And honestly, you matter in this too. The fact that you’re here, reading this, being part of this little corner of the world, plays into how I’m stepping into 2026. You’re not just on a list. You’re part of this community with me.

If you’re heading into the new year with excitement mixed with overwhelm, don’t hold it alone. Talk to someone who can help you see what’s hard to see from inside your own head.

Note to Self:

What I’m Learning

It’s totally fine to not do everything I planned for December. My house is full of Christmas cheer, but I’ve simplified a few things, and it still looks great. The world didn’t fall apart. I am loving the lights and the treasured decorations. A few things are missing, but the joy is still present. Simplifying does not mean less joy.

Try This:

One-Song Reset

Pick one song.
Hit play.
Reset one tiny thing while it plays.
Clear a surface, switch laundry, send one message, or just breathe.

When the song ends, you’re done.
One tiny reset.
More helpful than you’d expect.

More Support Needed?

If you lost momentum in 2025 and you’re ready to create something steadier for 2026, let’s talk. I have only two openings for individualized coaching in the new year, and once they’re taken, they’re gone.

If you’ve been thinking about getting support or building a different rhythm for yourself, this is a good moment to explore it.

Terrie Power Coaching When Thanksgiving starts to look different This year, our Thanksgiving looks different. Maybe yours does too. And this year, all of that showed up in our plans. We’re still having our traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, but not everyone can be here. Some are working. Some are with other family....
