A change to TURKEY day...

When Thanksgiving starts to look different

This year, our Thanksgiving looks different.

Maybe yours does too.

We’re in that new phase of life where the “kids” are married, engaged, working real jobs with real schedules, juggling in-laws, holidays, and responsibilities of their own. And this year, all of that showed up in our plans.

We’re still having our traditional Thanksgiving meal on Thursday, but not everyone can be here. Some are working. Some are with other family. Some will stop in briefly. Then on Saturday, we’re all getting together again for a second gathering. Not traditional, not the old picture-perfect version, but hopefully everyone in one room.

It doesn’t look the same as it used to. And honestly, that tugged on my heart at first.

But this season is teaching us to loosen our grip on how things “should” look and pay attention to what actually matters. When we let go of the old picture, we’re free to enjoy the one we’re living now. And honestly, there’s goodness here too.

And somewhere in the middle of all this shifting, I’ve been reminded how much beauty there is in the people walking through life with us. Even if the plans look different. Even if the timing is off. Even if the table isn’t full on the “right” day.

And I want you to know I’m grateful for you, Reader, too. Truly.

Thank you for being part of the Terrie Power Coaching community and for letting me walk with you in your own season of change.

A reflection for you:
Where in your own life is something shifting, and what would it look like to loosen your grip just a little so you can see the goodness in the new version?

💭 Note to Self: What I’m Learning

Changing holiday plans feels a lot like changing our habits. We can either fight for the old version of things or let our routines bend with the season we’re in. Joy usually shows up when we choose the second option.

This week doesn’t have to be perfect. Keep what matters. Let the rest soften. And if you want support staying steady during the holidays, here’s the blog I shared last week: https://www.terriepowercoaching.com/blog/

🔧 Try This

If today feels full, scattered, emotional, or just different, here’s a gentle AI prompt you can use to get grounded again. It works on the quiet days and the chaotic ones.

Ask ChatGPT:
“Help me create a simple, low-pressure plan for today based on my current energy, mood, and responsibilities. I want it to feel doable, not perfect. Ask me a few quick questions first so you can personalize it.”

It’s a simple way to reset your day with intention instead of pressure.

Terrie Power Coaching A December Reset and What It’s Teaching Me There’s something about December that makes things feel clearer. The lights, the quiet moments, the sense that a new year is close. This year, that feeling has shown up in a new way for me. I’ve been working on my 2026 offers and getting steadily more excited. But in the middle of all that, I hit a wall. This season has already started tugging at my routines, and I’m guessing I’m not the only one feeling it.
